NOTE: THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO CURRENT DURANGO SCHOOL DISTRICT EMPLOYEES who will be employed in the 2025-2026 school year as a school-based counselor and have been employed in a school-based counselor role with Durango School District since at least September 1 2024.
The Student Support Services Departmentis accepting applications for a School-based Counselorto lead Durango School Districts counseling team.
Position Title: Counselor Lead Professional Learning and Program Collaboration
Compensation: 1.05 index of salary. The individiual who is employed in this role will receive a stipend amount that is equivalent to 5% of their 181 day 2025-2026 1.0 FTE salary rate.
Overview:
The Counselor Lead serves as a peer leader for the school districts counseling team. This stipend position focuses on professional collaboration program alignment and leadership in key district initiatives. The Counselor Lead will facilitate the Counselor Professional Learning Community (PLC) and take an active role in planning organizing and leading meetings and efforts aligned with the districts Student Wellness MTSS Career Connected Learning and the ASCA (American School Counselor Association) model.
