Description
Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale Devereux Arizonas 24-hour Residential Treatment Center (RTC) has the capacity to serve 52 children. The RTC is a safe supportive environment that provides various services to youth from the ages of 7 to 17 who are experiencing emotional behavioral or substance abuse challenges. The Campus features dormitories a therapeutic K-12 day school food services medical/nursing and therapy services.
The Substance Abuse Clinician provides comprehensive assessment treatment planning and evidence-based substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services to individuals within a structured therapeutic residential setting. This role plays a critical part in multidisciplinary care coordination contributing to trauma-informed and person-centered programming designed to address co-occurring behavioral health and substance use needs. The Substance Abuse Clinician actively collaborates with youth families internal treatment teams and external partners to promote recovery enhance coping strategies and support reintegration into the community or step-down services. Key responsibilities include clinical documentation psychoeducation progress monitoring relapse prevention planning discharge coordination and linkage to aftercare services in alignment with The Joint Commission standards and applicable AHCCCS Covered Behavioral Health Services Guide provisions. You demonstrate cultural humility clinical expertise in adolescent substance use and a strong commitment to ethical trauma-informed care.
Salary Range: $60000 - $66000 (Associate Level Licensure); $68000 - $74800 (Independent Level Licensure)
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (with other hours as needed)

Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Counseling Addictions Counseling or Substance Abuse Counseling
- Required: Current valid license to practice in Arizona with no restrictions. Associate or Independent Level: Licensed Associate Addiction Counselor (LAAC) or Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor (LIAC)
- Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft office programs
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
OTHER:
- Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)
- Valid Arizona Drivers License & pass DMV 36-month history check
- Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
- Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
- Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).Arizona Revised Statutes Notice (ARS 36-411 Residential care institutions; nursing care institutions; home health agencies; fingerprinting requirements; exemptions; definitions). If a persons employment record contains a six-month or longer time frame during which the person was not employed by any employer a completed application with a new set of fingerprints shall be submitted to the department of public safety.
