JOB TITLE: Incredible Years Child Care Worker

LOCATION: On-Site

JOB POSTING:

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with children and families preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent necessary
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Demonstrated experience in or potential for providing appropriate supervision to children and adolescents complete with safety structure and boundaries appropriate to individual needs.
  • A commitment to applying the Incredible Years model to the children in group
  • Ability to maintain a part time flexible work schedule
  • Participation is required in ongoing training deemed appropriate by Program Supervisor.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Performs Basic care and caregiving needs
  • Caring for a large group of children ranging in ages from infancy-16
  • Maintain safe and sanitary environment for children to play
  • Maintain the well-being of children in care
  • Assist in physical set up/break down of child care and group space
  • Oversees safety of children in their care
  • Utilize concepts taught in the Incredible Years School-Age BASIC Parent Program when working with children
  • Willing to travel to perform duties in a wide range of community settings such as detention centers schools homes jails libraries homeless shelters and any other applicable locations deemed appropriate and safe
  • Is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions and exposed to hazards such as fumes orders dusts mists gases or poor ventilation and may require the employee to work in close quarters
  • May be exposed to human body fluids and is subject to the OSHA requirements on blood borne pathogens

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Lift carry and transport materials
  • Maintains and develops strong working relationship with peers
  • Coordinates age appropriate activities for the children in care
  • Oversee and maintain safety sanitation and well-being of children in care
  • Performs related duties as required
  • Knowledge of child development preferred
  • Ability to complete training for the Incredible Years program
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR infant and adult or able to be certified
  • Creative and methodical
  • Patience flexibility love for children
  • Ability to respectfully represent the agency within the community
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing stooping crouching reaching pushing pulling lifting standing walking fingering grasping talking and hearing
  • Must be able to perform actively able to lift 30 pounds and participate in physical activity with the children
  • Must possess the visual acuity to perform reading
