Experienced manufacturing leader in leading the Liquid Manufacturing Department for the production and supply of biopharmaceutical products. The position reports directly to the Sr. Director Operations & Site for Thermo Fisher Scientifics BioProduction Group located in Grand Island NY.

Responsibilities include a driven focus on meeting customer needs in a demanding regulatory and research environment while leading and coordinating all manufacturing operations across the Liquid Value Stream. Ensuring the Liquid VS functions at peak efficiency with accurate communications and interfaces developing the operations and manufacturing leadership teams while ensuring delivery of high-quality products in compliance with all applicable customer business and regulatory requirements.

Key Objectives of the role:

  • Lead and drive EHS in manufacturing to achieve world-class metrics on recordable and lost time incidents. Develop processes to identify and eliminate risks through engineered solutions.
  • Establish and improve the organization and processes to produce products in a timely cost-effective and quality manner for the Biologicals and Chemicals and Biosciences Divisions.
  • Assess resource needs across the Liquid VS by working with site and functional leaders to assign resources per established priorities.
  • Provide leadership to achieve goals and create a culture of belonging accountability continuous improvement and our 4i Values - Integrity Intensity Innovation and Involvement.
  • Drive performance to achieve and exceed financial targets through quality cost efficiency and productivity.
  • Establish key performance indicators to inspire change and provide the team visibility and leadership. Track trend and analyze to target to obtain results.
  • Develop a succession strategy and improve bench strength by facilitating and mentoring manufacturing organization leaders to be both exceptional players and coaches.
  • Partner with HR on hiring and training.
  • Prepare and lead coaching and annual performance reviews of manufacturing leaders. Define and establish clear objectives and expectations and routinely provide direct feedback for performance management and development.
  • Lead department budgeting scheduling and achievement of key operating metrics.
  • Identify projects and recommend appropriate courses of action (e.g. discontinuation outsourcing process improvement) to improve profitability and supply.
  • Implement robust Risk Management practices to maintain a high probability of project success i.e. satisfaction of scope schedule and budget.
  • Ensure effective transfers of new products into production that meet all requirements for the classification.

How Will You Get Here

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in applicable field. An advanced degree in related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication collaboration and social skills to facilitate team interactions and to partner with and influence team members including Human Resources Engineering PMO Finance R&D Product Management and the Commercial team.
  • Strong leadership ability with the capability to improve diverse resources respond quickly understand the impact of changes and decisions. Facilitate agreement build collaborative relationships and focus on customer needs.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $130000.00$150000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company team and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on which includes:
