Job Description

RN Progressive Care Unit Permanent Role

Location: Waco TX 76712
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Essential Functions:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and identify priority needs.
  • Develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans adjusting as necessary to meet goals.
  • Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families demonstrating empathy professionalism and clinical expertise.
  • Promote informed decision-making by educating patients families and community members on health conditions and care options.
  • Evaluate and document learning needs and education outcomes.
  • Collaborate with peers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and improve outcomes.
  • Delegate responsibilities appropriately and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies to address patient care challenges.
  • Maintain a strong focus on patient safety quality and efficiency in all aspects of care.
  • Actively contribute to the professional development of peers and participate in community outreach as needed.
Key Success Factors:
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing principles patient care standards and clinical procedures.
  • Familiarity with state nursing laws professional guidelines and hospital policies.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology disease prevention treatment protocols and pharmacology.
  • Strong adherence to nursing ethics and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office EHR systems and secure communication platforms.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Active and Valid RN license in the state of Texas.
  • BLS certification (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
