We are looking for a Sr. HR Operations Manager to oversee the Benefits and Employee Relations functions of our Human Resources department and provide support to our employees.
This position will report directly to the VP Human Resources and have at least one direct report.
The Sr. HR Operations Manager responsibilities include oversight of our benefits programs implementing new company policies and maintaining internal HR processes and systems. To be successful in this role you should have a degree in Human Resources Management Business or a relevant field along with relevant work experience in an HR position managing at least 1 HR professional.
The Sr. HR Operations Manager will ensure our HR initiatives are cost-effective run smoothly and contribute to a healthy work environment. The Sr. HR Operations Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and influence HR strategy to foster a positive workplace culture as well as execute on the day-to-day department responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Set objectives for the HR Operations team and track progress.
- Manage all benefit programs ensuring they are competitive equitable and aligned with organizational goals. Oversee wellness programs and manage benefits communications.
- Monitor internal HR systems and processes.
- Design revise and implement company policies.
- Monitor key HR metrics.
- Serve as an internal consultant to managers and staff regarding policies and procedures.
- Lead HR projects/initiatives as assigned by VP Human Resources.
- Create detailed reports as necessary.
- With the VP HR oversee the development and implementation of employee relations practices to promote a positive work environment. Monitor employee morale communicate opportunities for positive recognition and address key issues proactively.
- Address employees concerns and support and counsel supervisors and managers to proactively resolve conflicts.
- Proven work experience as an HR Operations Manager HR Manager Senior HR Generalist or similar role.
- Degree in Human Resources Management Business or a relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and experience with a multi-state company.
- Ability to be strategic as well as hands-on in a small HR department.
- Confidence to influence management in decision-making and offer recommendations on HR matters.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Skilled in handling difficult situations and resolving conflicts in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate initiative and independence in managing responsibilities.
- Direct experience with an HCM system experience converting to a new system a plus. Paylocity experience is a plus.
- MS Office experience to include a minimum intermediate level Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience designing benefits packages.
- Ability to develop clear and fair company policies.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Team management skills to build a collaborative productive HR team.
- BS/BA in Human Resources Management or relevant field plus at least 5 years as a HR manager supervising and leading a team.
- In addition a masters degree in HR or related field is a plus and/or HRCI or SHRM certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and telephone.
- Utilizing telephone and MS Teams to communicate with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to commute to the office in North Kingstown RI.
- Employees are required to work in-office at a minimum three days per week. The specific in-office days are at the managers discretion; they may vary based on the needs of the business and are subject to change providing advanced notice.
