POSITION SUMMARY: The Coffee Operations Manager oversees all aspects of coffee production from green coffee intake through roasting grinding flavoring and packaging. This role is vital to ensure efficiency quality and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This position also focuses on maintaining a quarterly turnover rate of 5% or less and developing a structured consistent training program for the coffee operations team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Lead daily operations in roasting grinding flavoring and packaging Manage and mentor production supervisors leads and operators Develop and maintain efficient production schedules Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure food safety and product specs Monitor and improve KPIs including throughput yield downtime and labor Collaborate with Supply Chain to maintain coffee and packaging inventory Oversee preventative maintenance and reduce equipment downtime Support R&D and new product launches Implement continuous improvement strategies (Lean Six Sigma etc.) Maintain compliance with OSHA FDA and related standards Achieve team retention goals keeping turnover at or below 5% Create and enforce a structured training program for all operations staff SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Manage develop and mentor Coffee Operations Leadership including Supervisors and Leads. Oversee and manage the Coffee Program activities and initiatives. WHAT YOU BRING: Required 10 years in food or beverage manufacturing 5 years in a leadership role in production or operations Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Aptean SAP NetSuite etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Proven ability to lead and coach high-performing teams Strong communication problem-solving and organizational skills In-depth understanding of GMP HACCP and food safety regulations Strong analytical and communication skills Preferred Familiarity with third-party audits (SQF BRC) Lean Six Sigma certification or training Experience with specialty or organic coffee production. WORK ENVIROMENT AND EQUIPMENT: This position works in a warehouse roasting facility that requires constant standing on concrete floors exposed to loud equipment noise and subject to coffee dust strong odors. Personal protection equipment and other Good Manufacturing Practices are mandatory. WORK HABITS & EXPECTATIONS: - Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
