Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Principal Architecture based in Detroit MI to join our team. Our team operates in a cross-discipline collaborative and design-focused environment. This role will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating architecture activities for an operating unit.

This role has been identified by regional leadership as being strategically critical to our growth in the Michigan market and beyond.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

  • Supports oversees and coordinates architecture activities
  • Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in negotiation of critical issues. At this level the individual will have demonstrated understanding of project delivery requirements creativity foresight working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence.
  • Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual problems determining objectives and requirements organizing programs and projects and developing standards and guides for diverse architectural activities.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS 10 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including 2 years of leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed RA
  • Leadership experience including managing client expectations multi-disciplinary teams and meeting scope/schedule/budget
  • Detail-oriented methodical meticulous process-oriented yet open to change and motivated by innovation
  • Advanced knowledge of planning and design process construction documentation construction administration and code requirements
  • Experience managing concurrent projects in various stages of development and managing multiple project types with an emphasis on design sustainability and innovation
  • Innovative problem solver with excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills and a proven ability to manage people and projects through strong demonstrated organizational skills
  • Strong skills in the full suite of MS Office Adobe and Autodesk applications
  • Participate in selected marketing and business development opportunities in support of the sales team
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Be a great collaborator and communicator
  • Ambitious self-starter with a get-it-done attitude who strives for excellence
