The Assistant Director of Security Operations is responsible for providing leadership and overall operational management for Security personnel safeguarding the well-being and assets of employees guests and the Wynn Las Vegas property. The Assistant Director of Security Operations must adhere to all company policies and procedures while upholding the Forbes Five-Star service standards and the Wynn Core Values and Behaviors.
Essential Duties
- Actively communicates company updates policy changes hotel occupancy special events and messages from senior management to all team members in the department.
- Conduct and oversee hiring process for Security Management.
- Other duties requested by the Executive Director or Vice President of Security Corporate Investigations and Crisis Management.
- Assisting the Executive Director of Security in preparing and implementing operating budgets and fulfilling staffing needs within budgetary confinements.
- Conducting daily site inspections reviewing incident reports assisting with overseeing the Security Officers Bike Officers Access Control Officers and special event personnel.
- Designing evaluating and implementing efficient security measures for Wynn Las Vegas.
- Working to efficiently investigate analyze and resolve guest and employee incidents.
- Take command and actively mitigate incidents involving weapons or suspects known to illicit or are displaying physically aggressive behavior.
- Responsible for coordinating executive protection services including risk assessment and threat analysis to ensure the safety of high-profile individuals.
- Effectively manage and review use of force incidents limiting liability minimizing business disruption and preventing guest and employee injuries.
- Understands and is well-versed in the resort hotel features and services including all outlets hours of operation activities and events available to patrons.
- Perform crowd control and emergency incident management during crisis situations.
- Control security incident scenes for safety and to protect the dignity of both patrons and employees.
- Coordinate efforts for outside contractors VIPs vendors and law enforcement personnel.
- Maintain the company Forbes 5-star standards at all times for guests and employees.
- Appropriately document all incidents in accordance with the security department guidelines to include voluntary statements and department specific incident/reporting requirements.
- Remain in compliance with all Wynn policies and procedures and department specific guidelines.
- May be required to assist civil and law enforcement authorities in administrative proceedings and provide voluntary statements in reference to involved incidents up to and including testimony in court.
Qualifications :
- A minimum of 5 years prior supervisory or management experience in Hotel/Casino Security is highly preferred.
- Previous law enforcement experience is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of local state and federal laws and regulations regarding security operations.
- Basic knowledge of Nevada Gaming laws and minimal internal control standards.
- Knowledge of law enforcement use of force applications.
- Must be able to respond in a controlled demeanor during stressful incidents and potential life-threatening crisis situations.
- The ideal candidate will currently possess a Nevada Carrying Concealed Weapon (CCW) permit or a HR 218 (Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act) card. Candidates who do not currently hold either of the certifications must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada CCW or HR 218 within six months of their hire date. Once obtained the CCW or HR 218 certification must not expire or be revoked.
- Must be able to obtain and possess a valid Nevada Gaming Registration an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES) First Aid Basic Life Safety and CPR certifications.
- High school graduate or equivalent is required college graduates preferred.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills along with a working knowledge of basic computer programs (Word Excel Outlook email etc.).
- Ability to communicate in English fluently and professionally. Additional languages preferred.
- Must acquire a valid Nevada Drivers License upon employment.
- Successfully pass a psychological evaluation that will be referred by the company.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills along with a working knowledge of basic computer programs (Word Excel Outlook email etc.).
