Job Coach Project Search

  • Employment Term: Permanent Part Time position offering 20 hours per week

  • Location: St Stephens Hospital - Hervey Bay QLD

  • Remuneration: $44.58 p/hr Super NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team:

The Job Coach is responsible for supporting the achievement of high-quality employment outcomes for young people with a disability through delivery of UnitingCares Project SEARCH Transition-to-Work Program.

The Project SEARCH program is a unique business-led one-year employment preparation program that takes place entirely at a Host Workplace. This role will see you:

  • Develop effective networks and partnerships both internally and externally with all Project SEARCH stakeholders that will support the achievement of quality client outcomes

  • Work in partnership with the leadership team and host sites developing a range of
    internships designed to teach Interns competitive and marketable skills that
    are transferrable to jobs within the community

  • Work with the leadership team to identify assess and select eligible young
    people with a disability to participate in the Project SEARCH program

  • Complete a range of assessments to determine Intern capacity support
    requirements and areas for skill development

  • Provide employment preparation training and a range of vocational and non-
    vocational interventions to assist Interns to manage employment related
    barriers and develop their skills

  • Provide individualised on-the-job support to each Intern during the internship
    rotation to facilitate the development of competitive and marketable skills

  • Achieve Job Placement Key Performance Indicators by undertaking employer
    engagement activities to secure post program employment opportunities

  • Build and maintain relationships with follow on services such as Disability
    Employment Service providers to assist each intern transition in to open employment

  • Maintain data collection processes and information systems to ensure quality
    and responsiveness of service delivery including timely completion of a range
    of administrative and reporting functions relevant to the role

  • Work within relevant quality and risk frameworks and guidelines in accordance with
    NDIS Practice Standards to ensure delivery of high-quality services

What makes a difference for us

  • Certificate IV in Employment Services Disability Services Community Services or other relevant qualification (or lesser formal qualification with experience in a similiar role)

  • Demonstrated experience in successful culturally sensitive case management and planning practices related to people with a disability

  • High level written and verbal communication skills demonstrated by the ability to relate well to all people

  • Ability to work effectively and constructively across a range of stakeholders including the business sector community members and organisations.

  • Existing robust connections within the sector capable of opening doors and securing post program employment opportunities for Interns.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS environment funding and reporting models service delivery models and quality service frameworks.

  • Demonstrated understanding of key legislation at the Federal and State levels that impact on service delivery for Disability and Employment Services.

  • Current Drivers Licence Positive BlueCard & NDIS Worker Screening Check and Senior First Aid Certificate
