Job Description
Position Overview
Cristo Rey Fort Worth is seeking a dedicated Volleyball Coach to join our Athletics Staff for the upcoming season. This stipend position is a vital role focused on developing student-athletes not only in the sport of volleyball but also in life skills such as teamwork sportsmanship and personal growth. As a coach at Cristo Rey Fort Worth you are a teacher first using athletics as an extension of our holistic educational mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor to student-athletes emphasizing values of wellness and integrity
- Develop and implement weekly practice plans aligned with athlete skill development and team goals submitted to the Athletic Director on time
- Communicate clearly and consistently with athletes and families regarding practice schedules contests and expectations
- Conduct a preseason team meeting to review team rules expectations and the CRFW Athletics Code of Conduct
- Provide all athletes with quality instruction motivation and practice experiences to promote skill improvement and enjoyment
- Foster a supportive inclusive team environment that promotes school spirit cohesiveness and respect for all participants
- Provide timely positive and constructive feedback on athlete performance
- Uphold all CRFW NFHS and TCAF rules and regulations ensuring fair and consistent discipline when necessary
- Support the overall Cristo Rey mission by encouraging athletes to excel academically socially and spiritually
- Lead practices at least twice a week throughout the season
- Coach the team through an eight-game season that runs from July to October (with official games scheduled from September 16 through October 16)
- Commitment to Cristo Rey Fort Worths Catholic mission and educational philosophy
- Ability to connect authentically with a culturally and linguistically diverse student body
- Previous coaching experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Understanding of and dedication to the role of athletics in student development beyond competition
- Willingness to work extended hours during the sports season
- Completion of all required background checks VIRTUS training and adherence to school policies
- This is a stipend position
