TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8000 students located in Laredo Texas a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250000. The university advances knowledge through research and discovery teaching and learning community engagement and public service and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. For more information please visit is aa one-year non-tenure track lecturer position for English (first-year writing program). Primary duties will includeteaching 15 semester credit hours per semester the equivalent of five courses in composition such as ENGLand 2311. Duties also includeproviding service to the department college university and students. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
The Department of Humanities offers a wide array of undergraduate programs in English History and Spanish along with Master of Arts degrees in English History and Political Thought and LLT (Language Literature and Translation).
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold aan earned Masters degree in English. Candidates must be available to teach face-to-face classes on campus. We strongly encourage candidates withprior teaching experience particularly experience teaching composition courses.
