Job Description
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Healthcare Administration or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management with at least 5 years in a healthcare environment.
- Proven experience in overseeing hospital IT operations and implementing health information systems.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations (preferrablyincluding NYS DOH regualtions) including HIPAA and HITECH Act compliance. Proficiency in managing electronic health records (EHR) systems preferable with working knowledge of MEDITECH Expanse and clinical information systems.
- Experience with IT infrastructure and cloud computing solutions in a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with clinical and administrative staff.
- Budget management experience with the ability to manage financial resources effectively. Familiarity with cybersecurity threats and the implementation of security measures in a hospital environment.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic IT plans aligned with hospital goals and objectives. Experience in vendor management and contract negotiations.
- Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence tools in healthcare.
- Certification in relevant IT and healthcare technologies such as CHCIO CISSP or PMP is preferred.
