Description
The College of the Holy Cross seeks to hire a Copywriter who will be responsible for writing clear compelling copy across all channels for a wide range of audiences. The Copywriter will be an integral part of the creative marketing team writing the content for the redesigned website concepting new campaigns interpreting strategic briefs collaborating across departments and giving voice to the Colleges mission and work. This position will be responsible for writing brochures emails articles newsletters web content ad copy and will provide the final read for all high-profile written materials.
The Copywriter will develop the brand voice and apply it through written content for audiences ranging from prospects to alumni. The successful candidate will collaborate with long-form content writers multimedia producers art directors designers and strategists to identify and develop the stories that communicate Holy Cross core values across a variety of high profile digital and print properties.
A successful copywriter will pitch concepts interview subjects write copy manage revisions and deliver approved final assetsall while advocating for best practices and developing the colleges brand voice.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Write compelling copy for large-scale multi-channel projects including donor communications ads for Holy Cross Magazine emails for fundraising and stewardship efforts and brochures website and paid campaigns for prospective students.
Interpret the Holy Cross brand voice for a range of audiences including prospects students parents staff and alumni.
Develop concepts and messaging strategies for new campaigns; partner with creative leads to ensure message clarity and storytelling impact.
Pitch concepts to stakeholders and marketing leadership and finalize creative to achieve stated marketing goals.
Develop scripts for mission-driven student life and campaign videos; support on-camera interviews and narrative framing in collaboration with video producers.
Write edit and manage website content in collaboration with web and marketing teams.
Write and edit stories for the College magazine as needed.
Provide final proofing for high-visibility publications like the Commencement Program and donor calendar.
As needed manage project intake and keep work moving to ensure final assets are delivered on time.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 2-4 years of experience as a copywriter with a portfolio of creative work
Ability to research write edit and fact check with a nuanced understanding of diverse audiences.
Experience writing for the web print and social media
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
Experience writing for prospective college students and their families is a plus
Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Ability to think creatively strategically and collaboratively
Knowledge of digital marketing channels and best practices

Additional information:This is a full time exempt level position with a salary range of $64000-$71000. The College is committed to providing competitive market pay for its employees. The College also offers a competitive benefits package for full-time staff including:
