Job Title: PMO Manager

Working Pattern: Hybrid 3 days a week in the office

NautIQ Solutions part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems focuses on delivering electrical automation and autonomy products to Naval and Commercial Marine customers. Our integrated programme delivery teams work across Bristol and Heybridge with shared support resources in East Grinstead.

What You Will Be Doing

As the PMO Manager you will establish and lead a new Project Management Office (PMO) to strengthen governance delivery performance and strategic alignment across the Electrical Switchboard Programme and broader NautIQ business. You will play a critical leadership role overseeing project standards governance processes reporting resource coordination and capability development.

Working closely with programme leaders operational teams and executive stakeholders you will ensure consistency and control across the entire project portfolio supporting risk mitigation change management and schedule assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Assurance

  • Define implement and continuously improve the project governance framework and reporting structure.
  • Chair and oversee the Change Control process and Approval Board.
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with risk management financial control of risk release and project standards.
  • Provide regular reports to executive leadership and the Audit & Risk Committee on project status risks and performance.

Project Standards & Methodologies

  • Develop and embed a consistent project delivery methodology including templates tools and lifecycle stages.
  • Manage portfolio dashboards and integrated reporting.
  • Lead Gate Reviews across all key lifecycle phases.

Portfolio Management & Resource Coordination

  • Approve and prioritise resource allocation through a central Portfolio Board.
  • Support capacity planning and scheduling through close collaboration with delivery teams and the Master Scheduler.
  • Act as escalation point for project risks issues and delivery concerns.

Capability Building & Leadership

  • Build PMO capability through coaching training and supporting project professionals and business leads.
  • Line manage PMO team members (e.g. Risk and Change Manager Master Scheduler).
  • Promote a delivery-focused collaborative culture across programmes and functions.

Strategic Leadership

  • Shape the strategic vision of the PMO ensuring alignment with NautIQs business goals and growth ambitions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery discipline and maturity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Project Management Business Administration Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven leadership experience in a PMO or large-scale programme environment.
  • Strong understanding of project governance risk management change management and scheduling.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills working across functions and leadership levels.
  • Effective communicator with strong analytical organisational and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and reporting tools including Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as PMP PRINCE2 MSP MoR or equivalent.
  • Experience within engineering marine or complex manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience of portfolio management and resource governance.
  • Knowledge of regulatory industry and compliance standards relevant to project delivery.

Security Requirements

To apply for this role you must be able to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. Rolls-Royce will support this nationality is required due to the nature of the work; dual nationals will undergo additional scrutiny.
