Who are we
The Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Centre is a place of hope grounded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customs values spiritual connection to ancestral lands seas and waters and cultural knowledge. It offers a culturally safe and welcoming environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can access support for their mental health and social and emotional wellbeing. The Centre takes a holistic whole person approach that respects and includes traditional healing methods. Staff are culturally aware trauma-informed recovery-focused and provide warm non-judgemental and compassionate care.
Centre Implementation:
Our centre is set to officially commence service delivery October are now recruiting passionate enthusiastic staff who are not only committed to delivering accessible and culturally safe care but who are also excited by the unique opportunity to help shape something from the ground our team at this early stage means being part of a start-up environment. One that values innovation flexibility and a strong sense of purpose. We are seeking individuals who are eager to contribute to the implementation of new programs and services help refine processes and play an active role in creating a welcoming inclusive and impactful space for our community.
Position Commencement: We are aiming to commence staff on the 1st of September 2025.

Location: While our permanent centre is being established in the CBD positions will be based at Sonder Marion and Sonder Port Adelaide.

The Director of Operations will lead the cultural clinical and day-to-day functions of the Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Centre. Reporting to the NINI CEO this senior leadership role oversees integrated mental health and wellbeing services designed by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander provide visionary leadership rooted in Aboriginal culture embedding community voice traditional healing and kinship-informed care into all aspects of service delivery. With responsibility for governance performance quality and strategic execution youll ensure the Centre delivers trauma-informed culturally safe and whole-of-life is a unique opportunity to help build an innovative Centre from the ground up advancing self-determination lived experience leadership and culturally grounded models of care that honour Aboriginal ways of knowing being and doing.
Experience Requirements:
- This position is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified position and is exempt under the Equal Opportunity Act (1984). The position will only be open to those who identify as of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in social and emotional wellbeing services or mental health settings.
- Background in designing and delivering culturally informed programs in health mental health or community services.
- A minimum of two (2) years relevant experience providing support in Aboriginal mental health or community services
- A minimum of (2) two years relevant professional development and or supervision.
- Experience representing Aboriginal organisations in forums partnerships or interagency collaborations.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from regional and remote communities is highly desirable.
Qualification and Other Requirements:
- Working With Childrens Check
- National Police Check
- Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Immunisations is accordance to SA health Immunisation Policy
- Tertiary Health Administration Qualification Master of Business Administration or equivalent experience
