Job Summary: The Athletics Certification Officer reports to the Registrar at The University of Tulsa (TU) and is primarily responsible for the institutional control of NCAA Compliance. Specifically the position will complete eligibility certification of student-athletes in compliance with institutional American Athletic Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. The position will also maintain and manage all student-athlete records and documentation as it relates to eligibility as well as report all outcomes to the athletics department and NCAA . Essential Functions (Responsibilities): Interprets NCAA academic regulations. Access and review the NCAA Eligibility Center for initial eligibility documentation. Evaluate the transfer student-athletes eligibility by determining the number of degree applicable hours toward intended major and communicate this to the Athletics Compliance office and Office of Academic & Student Services (OASiS) prior to official recruiting visits. Analyze degree audits and complete the annual progress toward degree eligibility forms to confirm whether student-athletes meet continuing eligibility requirements by determining the number of degree applicable credit hours toward their major and entering into the applicable athletics database. Prepare and provide official certification of eligibility documents to the athletics department each academic year semester and for post-season play of all student-athletes. Manage and maintain all student-athlete eligibility certification documentation. Works closely with the athletics department specifically the Athletics Compliance and OASiS offices to communicate about student-athlete academic progress degree requirements and eligibility. Manage the completion and submission of the annual Academic Performance Rate ( APR ) NCAA Graduation Success Rate ( GSR ) and athletic Federal Graduation Rate ( FGR ) to the NCAA in coordination with the Athletics Compliance OASiS and Institutional Research offices. Assist the Athletics Compliance Office to file progress toward degree eligibility waivers when needed. Meet with the staff of the Athletics Department academic and compliance staff for regularly scheduled meetings to discuss emerging issues. Monitors the full-time enrollment status of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations. Codes student-athletes on and off the roster within the university system so that student-athletes receive appropriate academic support within the OASiS office. Utilizes appropriate systems and technologies for program tracking record keeping and internal communication such as Colleague Perceptive Content Informer Self-Service Teamworks ( ARMS ) and NCAA Applications (Eligibility Center and Academic Portal). Attend annual NCAA Regional Rules Seminar and other training opportunities as necessary to remain current in all regulation conformances. Performs other duties as assigned by the Registrar. Required Qualifications

Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and business practices. Equivalent Education/Experience Bachelors degree and three years of experience in a higher education setting. Experience preparing reports and forms evaluating degree plans and analyzing transcripts. Experience in academic records institutional research academic advising student success admissions financial aid or athletics academic support of compliance preferred. Experience with NCAA and conference rules and regulations specifically NCAA Bylaw 14. Understanding of university academic policies and procedures degree requirements and athletics department and NCAA deadlines
