You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a dynamic and detailed oriented individual to join Mental Health Division as a Mental Health Quality ImprovementSpecialist II. The selected candidate will performdifficult administrative work planning organizing informing and supporting the activities/functions of direct service staff through training chart auditing report reviews training and follow-up with external audit results. Providing guidance and/or developing logical processes to implement quality improvement actions that ensure that the security and confidentiality of individuals medical records are in compliance with laws regulatory HIPAA and Authority standards and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Quality Improvement Manager.

Essential Functions
Assists with the onboarding process by developing service workflows training of internal staff in the utilization of the electronic health record and DMAS and DBHDS regulations; provides technical assistance to other programs in the Mental Health Division on an as needed basis.
Reviews analyzes monitors and audits clinical documentation for accuracy quality of care and compliance with agency DMAS & DBHDS regulations and reimbursement standards.
Summarizes review findings for submission to Supervisors and staff; prepares reports or provides requested information as needed.
Performs targeted projects that address clinical documentation or other errors in the medical record to maximize revenue capture for specific programs to include audits training and workflow redesign as needed.
Maintains complex spreadsheets to analyze and track programmatic data.
Responsible for understanding and applying DMAS & DBHDS regulations as well as RBHA standards.
Knowledge of crisis care services and crisis response plans.
Provides training and education to address findings from quality reviews to enhance best practices clinical soundness effective interventions person centered components and ensure compliance with agency DMAS & DBHDS regulations and reimbursement standards.
Assists with implementation of strategic planning processes to improve and address barriers to quality service delivery.
Monitors clinical documentation captures data and measures compliance with all regulatory requirements using chart review tools and reporting.
Assists with the development of reports and provides regular data on compliance processes within the Mental Health Division as requested.
Participates in clinical staffing team meetings and other quality improvement meetings/activities as assigned.
Performs special projects as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of human psychological and social development psychotherapeutic treatment techniques/modalities assessment and evaluation of behavioral health disabilities Authority regulatory reimbursement standards; ability to assume the role of lead worker responsibilities; ability to collect interpret analyze and utilize treatment data; ability to work effectively/professionally with internal staff supervisors and other providers while serving in the best interest of the service delivery system ability to monitor advance practices and procedures with regard to safety of internal staff and compliance ability to read and interpret regulatory and reimbursement standards to better align with existing or new service provision and documentation requirements within the Mental Health Division. Excellent writing and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word Excel PowerPoint; ability to be flexible work independently and manage projects assigned.
