The HR Data Processing Technician will perform specialized technical and clerical tasks while exercising discretion and independent judgment and applying their specialized knowledge in the data entry of employee benefit and job records into the Human Resources Information System and external systems.

They will ensure the accuracy integrity reliability and timely completion of electronic and paper forms and HRIS processes while complying with applicable collective bargaining agreements and handbooks university policies and procedure and related laws. This position will maintain process documentation and assist in identifying issues related to HR data and processes.

The State HR classification for this position is HR Consultant Assistant 2.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience processing and accurately entering large volumes of data
  • 2 years of office experience in a field such as accounting medical records human resources billing finance OR equivalent education/experience
  • 3 years of customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations for personnel actions and payroll adjustments
  • Successful experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex fast-paced frequent interruption environment with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills including demonstrated ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong technical skills and demonstrated ability utilizing technology to work efficiently including intermediate working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Ability to deal with HR matters in confidential discretionary and professional manner
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse collaborative team in a dynamic work environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in human resources and/or benefits
  • Experience managing HRIS data
  • Hand-on experience utilizing human resource information systems
  • Working knowledge of Banner HR Millennium-FAST and/or PageUp
