Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director Employer & Alumni Career Engagement the Coordinator Employer & Industry Engagement plays a key role in executing employer-facing recruitment and engagement events while providing essential administrative and operational support for the Employer Connections team within Career & Professional Development. This position is ideal for someone passionate about student and alumni success with experience in program coordination event planning and a strong understanding of the evolving job market and higher education landscape.

The Coordinator leads the planning and execution of signature events such as Career & Internship Fairs and supports a range of core initiatives including Industry Panels Information Sessions City Treks Employer Education Series and Tabling. They also manage employer engagement for the micro-internship program helping to expand short-term project-based opportunities that connect students with real-world experience.

In addition to event execution the Coordinator provides administrative and data support to streamline operations and ensure a high-quality experience for both internal and external stakeholders. They may also take ownership of an industry cluster based on team needs and personal interest contributing to targeted employer outreach and student engagement.

This role collaborates closely with colleagues across the Career & Professional Development ecosystem and serves as a liaison to employer relations professionals in the Sturm College of Law Daniels College of Business and Korbel School of International Studies.

Essential Functions

Program Development & Coordination

  • In partnership with the Employer Connections team develop plan and execute large-scale recruitment and engagement events including the Career & Internship Fair series to connect employers with students and alumni.
  • Manage the Career & Internship Fair budget allocating resources to maximize student/alumni attendance and employer participation.
  • Organize staff volunteer sign-ups assign event roles and provide training to ensure smooth event execution.
  • In partnership with the Employer Connections team and the Communications Coordinator create promotional materials and conduct outreach to employers students and alumni to drive engagement and attendance.
  • Support the implementation of the employer-facing side of the micro-internship initiative including vendor coordination and ensuring successful placements.
  • In partnership with the Employer Connections team collaborate with student organizations to host industry events provide quarterly/semester training for leaders and ensure alignment with institutional goals.

Administrative & Data Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employer inquiries directing them to appropriate engagement opportunities and industry partners.
  • Manage communication between internal and external partners anticipating needs and ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Use data and feedback to assess program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
  • Design and manage surveys in Qualtrics and generate reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Review and approve PCO job listings and employer accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records in PCO and ensure reliable and up-to-date information.
  • Regularly update the Employer Connections website distribute monthly newsletters and coordinate employer spotlights and Instagram takeovers.
  • Manage event payment collection and reconciliation to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Support core programming (e.g. Industry Panels City Treks Employer Education Series) by reserving rooms scheduling via Zoom/PCO/Cvent and coordinating catering and logistics.
  • Provide occasional support for Burwell events and serve as a backup at the Reception Desk as needed.

External Relations & Campus Representation

  • Liaise with employer relations professionals at the Sturm College of Law Daniels College of Business and Korbel School of International Studies.
  • Actively collaborate with advancement and campus partners to support strategic and effective practices.
  • Represent the Employer Connections team at university-wide professional and community events to promote DU and build partnerships.
  • Deliver exceptional service to university leadership staff alumni donors and visitors responding professionally to inquiries across all channels.

Partnerships & University Citizenship

  • Serves as an active and collaborative partner to all central and unit-based Advancement staff and other campus colleagues to foster strategic effective and collaborative career and professional development practices.
  • Models One DU leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience (Veterans with equivalent combination of military certification/education and experience may substitute for the degree qualification).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service in a fast-paced stakeholder-facing environment.
  • 2 years of professional work experience in an administrative or other relevant role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating large-scale events or programs in higher education nonprofit or corporate settings.
  • Demonstrated success managing event logistics including vendor coordination volunteer management and budget tracking.
  • Familiarity with career services platforms (e.g. Handshake Symplicity) and event tools (e.g. Cvent Zoom Eventbrite).
  • Experience creating promotional materials and executing outreach campaigns to drive event attendance and engagement.
  • Proficiency with survey tools (e.g. Qualtrics) and data analysis to assess program effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
  • Experience maintaining websites newsletters or social media content to support program visibility and employer engagement.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to respond professionally to diverse stakeholders.
  • Understanding of employer engagement strategies or career development programming in a university or workforce development context.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to use a computer for an extended period
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs. with assistance

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 nights and weekends as required.

In accordance with the Universitys flexible work policy this position is eligible to be considered for partial remote work. Further details regarding this plan will be determined with the hiring manager and are dependent on the division and team specific needs.

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is 8.

Hourly Range

The hourly range for the position is $25.54 - $29.63.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
