Job Description
This position reports to the DC/SRD supervisor and is responsible for planning coordination logistical and administrative duties for the group. This group is responsible for developing new DC & SRD products for BIW built new construction ships evaluating change proposals to capture impact to existing DC & SRD products on In-Service hulls and subsequently incorporating documented changes into impacted products to reflect as-built configuration. The DC & SRD team supports all New Construction Lead Yard Services and Planning Yard efforts associated with DDG 51and DDG 1000 ships.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Plan and update Damage Control and Selected Records workorders.
- Coordinate with Post Delivery planning additions or changes to work schedule.
- Plan and Coordinate travel for Damage Control and Selected Records.
- Coordinate scoping of ECPs for Damage Control and Selected Records.
- Maintain inventory and order material when needed.
- Backup Damage Control and Selected Record Supervisor time accounting requirements.
- Status work performed by Damage Control and Selected Records on a weekly basis.
- Will scribe notes/write ups during meetings to support efforts related to Damage Control and Selected Records.
- Will network with off-site personnel for scheduling ship checks and determining windows of opportunity.
Required/Preferred Education/Training
- High School Diploma
Required/Preferred Experience
- 3-5 years of business or applicable experience preferred.
- Highly motivated person with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities for managing/meeting deadlines.
- Effective communicator - both oral and written.
- Organize and maintain a system for keeping track of tasks and priorities.
- Proficient in Excel Access and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of JIRA applications.
- Engineering/Design or PY experience a plus.
- Strong inter-personal relationship skills preferred.
