Salary range is $25.00/hour to $69.23/hour with a midpoint of $47.12/hour. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint however we may go slightly higher based on experience internal equity and market.

GENERAL PURPOSE:Reporting to the Senior Program Manager Economic Development Engagement and under general direction the Economic Development Engagement Specialist is responsible for coordinating and implementing the agencys Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business technical assistance outreach and engagement programs and activities. Builds relationships and partnerships; serves as a liaison between Sound Transit and members of the community; plans and coordinates training and events; creates materials; staffs community events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional position-specific duties.
- Coordinates collaborates and provides internal and external communications about Sound Transits Economic Development programs and initiatives;
- Works as part of a team to plan coordinate and execute outreach and engagement events and activities.
- Administers external Economic Development vendor engagement programs and activities associated with training technical assistance and capacity building.
- Administers internal Economic Development training and engagement programs and activities.
- Creates materials depicting qualitative and/or quantitative information regarding Sound Transits Economic Development programs and initiatives to the public via a variety of digital and physical communication channels.
- Develops implements and manages event logistics for both remote and in-person events and outreach activities.
- Builds relationships and partnerships; serves as a liaison and point of contact between Sound Transit DBEs small businesses and members of the community. May serve as the Sound Transit representative and project manager for partnerships agreements etc.
- Attends public events open houses and community gatherings. Creates presentations and speaks publicly. Writes a variety of public communication pieces including newsletters procurement notices brochures flyers postcards websites annual reports staff reports etc.
- Recommends methods for collecting feedback and input on Economic Development programs and initiatives. Collects synthesizes and reports on public input and impact of economic development programs and initiatives.
- Edits public information materials proofreading and quality assurance. Coordinates internal review of printed and digital materials.
- Ensures that proper document control processes are followed.
- Evaluates your work through a lens of social and racial equity to improve upon existing practices. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:Bachelors degree in Public Administration Business Administration Accounting Management or closely related field. Four years of experience in communications journalism marketing public administration business administration public affairs or a related field; OR a combination of education and experience.
