Job Description

The Virginia Tech Department of Athletics embraces the core values of Integrity Service Honor Excellence and Strong Together. This position will be responsible for supporting the planning promotion and execution of programs for the Office of Student-Athlete Development. The position will be responsible for the coordinating the logistics and operational components leading up to and during programming. These programs will focus on personal career and leadership development including community outreach opportunities relationship violence education mental health programming career development initiatives and other events.

Required Qualifications

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and events at one time.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality as well as a high standard of integrity and professionalism.
Ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds.
Ability to work a non-standard work week which will include evenings weekends etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree or masters degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution.
Experience in college athletics as a student-athlete or working in intercollegiate athletics.
Experience working with student-athletes at a NCAA Division I university.
Relevant experience in the area of life skills program development with collegiate student-athletes preferred.
General working knowledge of NCAA regulations and policies as it relates to student-athlete development.
