Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Cleveland OH
Schedule: Full-time Onsite Includes Overtime and Weekend Availability
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude welding proficiency and hands-on troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and basic electrical systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment is proactive in maintenance and understands the unique standards of working in a sanitary production facility.
Key Responsibilities:-
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production and packaging equipment

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and electrical components (up to 480V 3-phase)

Conduct sanitary welding and stainless steel sanitation as needed for food-safe repairs

Monitor adjust and maintain machinery to ensure consistent performance and minimize downtime

Fabricate repair and install machine components piping and production line fixtures
-
Utilize and maintain industrial tools and equipment (grinders saws welders multimeters etc.)

Accurately document maintenance activity parts usage and safety compliance
-
Maintain clean safe and compliant work areas per OSHA and internal standards

Collaborate with team members and respond to urgent maintenance issues including off-shift support

3 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a food beverage or dairy manufacturing environment
-
Experience with sanitary welding and stainless steel sanitation is strongly preferred
-
Strong understanding of mechanical systems including conveyors pumps valves and gearboxes
-
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems including VFDs and 3-phase motors
-
Ability to interpret technical manuals schematics and safety procedures
-
Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and reliability-centered practices
-
Willingness to work in physically demanding environments (wet hot/cold confined spaces)

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require standing bending kneeling and climbing
-
Must be safety-conscious and able to use appropriate PPE including for electrical work (arc flash protection insulated tools etc.)

Comfortable working overtime weekends holidays and being on call as needed

Background in dairy cheese or beverage processing industries

Familiarity with industrial automation VFDs and PLCs (basic knowledge acceptable)

Training or certification in welding mechanical systems or industrial maintenance

Experience in a GMP-regulated facility or HACCP-compliant environment

Exposure to noise moving machinery wet and humid conditions and occasional chemicals (sanitizers acids etc.)

Frequently required to stand walk lift carry climb bend and reach
-
Work may occur in temperature-variable areas and include work at heights or in tight spaces
