INBRAIN harnesses the extraordinary material properties of Graphene the worlds thinnest and nobelprize winning material to build high resolution neural systems.Our mission is to decode and modulate neural networks to restore peoples lives.

Since this is a major mission we needed a major partner. Our INBRAIN subsidiaryINNERVIA has an ongoing 4 year collaboration with Merck KGaA to decode and modulate the Vagus nerve in high resolution and deliver therapies in areas of interest for Merck at the peripheral nervous system level.

As aSenior Electronics Engineer you will play a crucial role in developing cuttingedge medical devices with a strong emphasis on advanced medical electronic this dynamic position you will research architect and design innovative electronic subsystems.Develop and test these systems to ensure toplevel performance and compliance with regulatory standards.

You will be at the forefront of bringing advanced healthcare solutions to market making a tangible difference in peoples lives worldwide.
Your profile

Main Responsibilities:

  • Development of medical device electronic circuits that are part of an implantable neurostimulation system in close collaboration with mechanical and software engineering teams.
  • Architect technical concepts and assess its technical feasibility.
  • Generate intellectual property.
  • Translate system requirements and user needs into electronic subsystem and interface requirements.
  • Perform functional analysis and create system designs that meet the requirements.
  • Develop medical devices according to applicable standards.
  • Manage external partners in the outsourced design assembly verification and validation of electronic systems that are part of the implantable neurostimulation system.
  • Support the integration and process development related to electronics integration into the neurostimulation system.
  • Define test strategies to verify the electronic systems against the product and manufacturing requirements.
  • Lead the development of test systems for verification and manufacturing tests.
  • Apply risk management and perform design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA) on designs.
  • Initiate and lead design reviews technical reviews and milestone reviews.
  • Lead and participate in system integration verification and validation.
  • Understand and apply DFR/DFM/DFT (Design for Reliability Design for Manufacturing and Design for Test) including concept engineering modelling analysis sensitivity and statistical analysis.

Qualifications and Soft skills:

  • BSc or MSc in Electronics Engineering.
  • At least 6 years of work experience in a relevant medical device development environment.
  • Fluency in English required (English is company language). Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Experienced in electronics and PCB design according toIPC standards.
  • Experienced in the full development cycle of a medical device including design manufacturing verification and validation.
  • A systemthinking attitude identify areas of potential improvement and develop plans to address these; Team oriented a sparring partner to colleagues in other disciplines.
  • Experienced with electronic simulation and design methodologies and tools (e.g. Spice Altium etc..
  • Solid understanding of Medical Risk Analysis and FMEA.
  • Experienced in managing development outsourced to subcontractors for design manufacturing and integration.
  • Experienced in Verification test design and including statistical analysis.
  • Solid understanding of medical device development standards and experience in applying these standards (IEC606011 IEC606012 in medical device electronics design and verification.
  • Determination to develop yourself and others.

  • Think and act strategically.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in electronics design for active medical implantable devices according to ISO 14708.
  • Familiar with design and verification according to the standards for active implantable medical devices.
  • Experience in design and testing for MRI compatibility.
  • Experience in wireless communication and wireless charging.
  • Familiar with medical device design from mechanical and software perspective.
  • Experience in neuroscience with a strong interest in gaining a further understanding of this field.
