Job Description

Effective 2025-2026 school year

Full Day - 8 hours/$358.00

Half Day - 4 hours/$228.00

Rsums should include education relevant experience and skills which highlight the qualifications of the position to which a person is applying.

Valid Washington Administrator Certificate is required.

Substitute employees may accrue sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked under Washington State Law. Upon working 630 hours in a school year substitutes may be eligible for insurance benefits through School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) which includes medical dental vision long-term disability life and AD&D insurance.

Summary:

Substitute Administrators are valued members of the Evergreen School District community who play an integral role in supporting the students and schools of EPS every day. Working as a Substitute Administrator with Evergreen Public Schools requires a high level of flexibility and adaptability as Substitute Administrators are eligible to work throughout the district in any school on an as-needed basis. Substitute Administrators provide instructional leadership for an Elementary Middle or High School or specialty school campus under the supervision of the Superintendent while the regular full time Administrator (Principal or Associate Principal) is unavailable. As a Substitute Administrator you will take on the roles and responsibilities of the full time administrator you are covering for including evening school events and other duties the full time administrator would typically participate in for extended substitute assignments.

    1. Leads for equity towards college and career readiness.
    2. Nurtures a school environment that celebrates respects and values diversity where teaching and learning are made relevant and meaningful to students of various cultures.
    3. Publically draws attention to all equity gaps that exist for various groups of students with plans to address their elimination.
    4. Initiates activities and discussions that lead to increased cultural competence of staff informing and expanding teaching practices within classrooms.

  4. Models instructional leadership and demonstrates a strong commitment to equitable outcomes for all students.
  5. Ability to recognize each person as a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
  6. The ability and desire to establish positive relationships with persons regardless of race gender physical limitation sexual orientation or religious belief with an active commitment to equal opportunity for all persons.
  7. Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships and interact successfully with diverse instructional support services and administrative staff including perceiving the needs and concerns of others; assisting others in resolving conflicts; motivating others; and designing programs to assist others in meeting organizational goals.
