Your role and responsibilities

You will:

  • be responsible to the SRF Partnership Manager you will oversee the running of the core Suffolk Resilience Forum (SRF) work and ensure the SRF meets the objectives of the Suffolk Local Resilience Strategy and Annual Delivery Plan
  • as a visible Leader you will be expected to promote the Suffolk Resilience Forums vision mission and priorities effectively to staff partners and the public and inspire others by role modelling joint organisational values
  • promote a culture of fostering innovation value for money and outcome-based resilience focus
  • have responsibility for the Internal Risk Register and support various SRF working groups as required
  • deputise for the SRF Partnership Manager providing support to the Chief Resilience Officer and management of the Risk and Resilience Officers
  • line manage the Risk and Resilience Officers within the SRF team and provide coaching and mentoring to support the teams development.

You will need

  • an interest in management within emergency planning and resilience.
  • to have previously successfully managed change within a multiagency environment.
  • great organisational skills be self-motivated be able to work under pressure and through quieter periods and be able to work under your own esteem.
  • to have exceptional communication skills and empathy working within a multiagency environment means liaison with a wide range of partners and complex work streams.
  • experience of project management would be ideal with experience of being flexible to adapt to changing timelines.

The team

The SRF team primary objective is to support partner agencies to be complaint with the Civil Contingencies Act (2004)and the team itself is hosted by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service and is due to expand over the next year.

Currently the team is transitioning to a new structure which includes strategic leadership from the Chief Resilience Officer (CRO). The CRO post coordinates workstreams across community resilience communications climate adaptation data integration and business resilience.

The SRF Partnership Manager ensures trailblazer workstreams are integrated into core workstreams such as risk training and exercising. The Deputy Partnership Manager will line manage the Risk and Resilience Officers and over see core workstreams are executed to the highest standard.

All roles are on the SRF on-call rota to provide support to major incidents in Suffolk and support the county Tactical and Strategic Coordination function and the Multi Agency Information Cell.

The main partnership work is carried out on Working on Wednesday WoW days which are normally hosted at Police Headquarters and Tuesdays are team working days usually based at Endeavour House.

The team tends to work 2-3 days a week in office which can be at Endeavour House Landmark House and Police HQ although can include other sites across Suffolk.
