Summary of Position: The Student Care Specialist supports the mission of the Registrars Office by providing exceptional customer service to students parents faculty and staff in Registration & Academic Services (RAS). This role involves managing essential processes such as petitions withdrawals add/drops and other academic record functions while maintaining a welcoming and professional presence at the front desk.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a hard-working and integral member of the Registrars Office
- Serve as a front-line specialist and provide high-level customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor
- Understand facilitate and communicate university policies to students parents faculty and staff
- Assist students faculty and staff in processing and obtaining information regarding student registration and additional academic record forms
- Answer department phones and emails promptly and courteously
- Manage processes such as petitions withdrawals and add/drops
- Process forms and assist with document scanning
- Update and maintain accurate course section changes and manage related email communications
- Process student program changes including adding or changing certificates/majors/minors
- Assist in maintaining accurate academic records by applying approved course substitutions and exceptions
- Assist with large events including New Student Registrations Graduations and other programs
- Provide graduate information to graduating students and other departments as needed
- Assist in the certifying process to ensure that graduates have fulfilled all requirements prior to receiving degrees
- Maintain procedure manuals for related areas of responsibility
- Assist with creating more efficient and effective processes within the Registrars Office
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director and the University Registrar
- Assist in transcribing credit

Education - High school diploma
- Some college preferred
Experience - Ability in Microsoft Office (Outlook Powerpoint Word)
- Experience with Power Bi Access Excel Querying information and SharePoint are not required but preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Required Skills - Strong Christian commitment and adherence to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement
- High level of customer service skills through written and verbal communication
- Computer knowledge and skills with experience in Microsoft Office
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously prioritize projects and manage resources
