Citrix Infrastructure Consultant Hybrid Hosting & Resilience
About our client:
Our client is undertaking a strategic uplift of its Citrix infrastructure to support hybrid hosting high availability and resilient application delivery. This role is part of a broader transformation focused on modernising virtual desktop environments and ensuring seamless access across cloud and on-prem platforms. The team values deep technical expertise proactive problem-solving and structured operational excellence.
About the role:
We are seeking a Citrix Infrastructure Consultant to lead the design deployment and optimisation of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) environments. The successful candidate will build new Citrix Sites implement hybrid hosting models and ensure resilient application publishing across Azure and vSphere platforms. This is a hands-on role requiring strong experience in Citrix architecture automation and endpoint integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build new Citrix Sites for XenApp application publishing using CVAD and Citrix DaaS on Azure.
- Design and implement hybrid hosting models with Azure workloads and on-prem vSphere infrastructure.
- Deploy Machine Creation Services (MCS) and Provisioning Services (PVS) for image management.
- Create and manage App Layers using Citrix App Layering for OS Platform and Application separation.
- Configure Citrix NetScaler VPX for Gateway ICA Proxy load balancing and StoreFront access.
- Implement Group Policies (GPOs) for user/session personalisation and security hardening.
- Integrate Workspace Environment Management (WEM) for profile performance and policy control.
- Collaborate with endpoint teams to integrate Microsoft Intune and SCCM for compliance and software distribution.
- Manage application publishing for different user groups with high availability.
- Automate deployment and configuration using PowerShell scripting.
- Document system builds configurations and standard operating procedures.
Required Experience:
- 10 years of hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps (XenApp) and Citrix DaaS on Azure.
- Proven experience building Citrix Sites from scratch including Delivery Controllers StoreFront Director and Cloud Connectors.
- Hands-on experience with MCS and PVS in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of Azure VMs Azure AD and on-prem vSphere infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Citrix App Layering and NetScaler VPX (Gateway load balancing).
- Familiarity with F5 GSLB and integration with Citrix ADC.
- Deep understanding of Active Directory Group Policy management.
- Experience with Citrix WEM Microsoft Intune and SCCM.
- Skilled in application publishing and Citrix Studio administration.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting for Citrix and Windows automation.
Desirable Skills & Certifications:
- Citrix certifications: CCA-V CCP-V or CCE-V.
- Microsoft certifications: Azure Administrator M365 Modern Desktop Admin.
- Experience with FSLogix for profile containers.
- Exposure to Citrix Cloud and hybrid cloud designs.
