About the role
As a Support Worker with Activ you will be making a real impact in the lives of others by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement. We are all about personalised and people-focused support teaming up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. We are currently looking for an experienced female* support worker to work in accommodation in Busselton. This is a permanent position working 54 hours a fortnight including one weekend. Shifts start times range from 6:30am-8am and end between 12 noon-2pm at the latest.
A typical day as a Support Worker may look like:
- Supporting person-centred plans that identify a customers life goals and working to achieve them
- Joining customers in recreational activities such as swimming dancing bingo horseback riding going to the gym bowling and more
- Supporting customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation housekeeping showering and toileting medication administration and attending appointments
- Ensuring positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
- Administration duties and mandatory daily reports.
The ideal candidate will:
- Live locally to Busselton and be able to work the roster pattern
- Have willingness to support customers of any gender by assisting with personal care (showering toileting) and domestic duties (meal preparation housekeeping)
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Passion for providing service and assistance and helping others live their best lives.
- Previous experience or willingness to train in manual handling and medication administration.
- Proven administration and computer literacy skills.
- Cert III in Individual Support (CHC33015 or CHC33021) OR willingness to work towards the qualification.
- A valid drivers licence and a willingness to use your private vehicle (with rebates available).
