Work Schedule9-13 hours per week.

For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Position OverviewPharmacy clerks must be actively enrolled in 6 hours or more at KU.
Most clerks work 9-13 hours per week. Expectations are for clerks to work three shifts each week Monday Friday and four Saturday shifts per semester.
Options for shifts are:
Monday through Friday either 11:30am to 2:30pm or 2:30pm-5:30pm. Saturdays 12:00pm-4:00pm.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate electronic equipment such as computers cash registers and related tools to process customer purchases using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold.
- Provide prompt and professional customer service and care for patients customers and medical personnel. This will include in-person contact answering phone calls electronic and other forms of communication to then identify and triage customer needs regarding medication questions requests and concerns locating and purchasing merchandise and resolving issues and concerns.
- Maintain the Pharmacy merchandise area in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling presentation rotation of merchandise and removing damaged or out-of-date goods.
- Assist in pharmacy document management by following procedure of preparing organizing and maintaining required prescriptions paperwork logs and other files.
- Maintain and promote a professional appearance of self pharmacy and merchandise areas that are assigned.
