M-F 7:00AM - 2:00PM
Shift time is subject to building needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Valid Washington State Department of Health Food Handlers Card.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain industrial kitchen equipment.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with district staff students parents and the general public using tact courtesy and good judgment.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math calculations; order products and supplies according to attendance and production requirements (written skills test required).
- Knowledge and understanding of all S.P.I. requirements for food services.
- Demonstrated ability to change menus based upon proportioned quantities.
- Ability to complete production records and maintain accurate meal counts.
- Ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative and positive working relationships with fellow food service staff and other district personnel.
- Demonstrated punctuality and ability to maintain excellent record of attendance.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find acceptable.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with all aspects of meal preparation including food preparation cooking assembly service and clean-up of meals in accordance with MLSD Food Service policies and procedures and in compliance with regulations concerning meal pattern requirements.
- Properly record and account for all served meals as specified in regulations for the National School Lunch Program.
- Maintain records of account debits and credits for students and school staff.
- Order and receive food deliveries from base kitchen and central warehouse as needed.
- Supervise and instruct student workers assisting with the meal period.
- Follow proper sanitation safety and temperature control procedures in accordance with Washington State Health Department standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment and report all problems to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Complete paperwork as required by Food Services Department. To include but not limited to:
- Meal and cash accounting records
- Inventory
- Meals per labor hour data
- Order forms
- Government production records
- Attend all assigned training safety meetings and in-service meetings.
Accept responsibility for assignments and outcomes. - Work cooperatively with other staff; maintain positive respectful relationships and engagements.
- Maintain district assigned email account; read and respond to messages regularly.
- Exhibit excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Services Director.
