closely with the Finance Director Human Resources Director and Operations Manager. Communicate problems and concerns you have as well as those that come to your attention from other district employees. As a part of you training recommend solutions to the problems as identified. Keep the Finance Director updated on your progress with your tasks as listed below and/or your progress with problems you have previously discussed with her. Any other corrective action needed that you are aware of that would hinder us from providing service to the district and community in a timely and efficient manner should be brought to our attention immediately.

Contract Hours: 8 hours/day

Qualifications:
- High school graduate with payroll background and attention to detail. Associates degree in Accounting preferred.
- Accurate 10 key
- Strong communication skills and mathematical aptitude.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Ability to operate standard office machines including a PC.
- Ability to demonstrate high proficiency in duties; working through to completion with little or no supervision.
- Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with District personnel and the public.
- Ability to exercise initiative independent judgment and discretion in performing duties.
- Knows the importance of confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting standing lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.) reaching squatting kneeling.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Supervise one payroll clerk
- Maintain accurate payroll records for reporting purposes
- Receive and process all payroll information from district personnel
- Send and maintain direct deposit information to the bank two days prior to payday
- Maintain and pay insurance annuity billings and all other payroll deductions
- Transfer funds to appropriate accounts to cover P/R and A/P
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual payroll reports such as ERA ESC Federal and State tax reporting etc.
- Verify and Prepare W-2s for all employees
- Provide information and complete reports as requested from the finance director and/or other district personnel
- Work closely with district employees to assist them in solving their payroll questions or concerns
- Work closely with annual financial auditor on payroll reports and questions
- May assign duties to the Payroll clerk when deemed necessary for the efficient function of the payroll department.
- Any other duties assigned by the Director of Finance Human Resources Director or the Operations Manager
