Job Description
Overview
Responsibilities
Educates and enforces policies related to specimen collection handling testing and investigation to ensuring consistent adherence by staff and reliable rest results.
Provides guidance and assistance to staff on procedures troubleshooting and problem-solving fostering a skilled and competent laboratory team to ensure efficient and high-quality testing services.
Oversees technical procedures that produce accurate test results within acceptable turnaround times and successfully trains staff to maintain proficiency in these skills ensuring reliable and efficient laboratory operations.
Oversees the lab safety program promoting a culture of safety and loss prevention ensuring a safe environment for staff and patients to minimize the risk of accidents.
Manages staffing plans and scheduling to support smooth laboratory operations and timely patient care.
Ensures accurate completion of employee time sheets offers coaching corrective actions and conducts performance appraisals for staff development to align performance with standards and foster a high-performing workforce.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred: Two to four years supervisory or leadership experience
