Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Identify plan and execute technical projects that align with and enable implementation of the top business priorities. Lead projects collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead continuous improvement in manufacturing operations. Initiate and lead projects related to process improvement cost reduction and/or new product introduction. Define engineering requirement specifications and create designs for manufacturing process equipment and tooling. Work closely with design engineering teams to ensure design changes are manufacturable. Participate in design reviews and define and own design change implementation actions for manufacturing. Ensure design and process changes are in alignment with production goals and quality standards. Identify and implement improvement opportunities for existing processes leveraging LEAN problem solving data visualization and statistical analysis tools. Provide technical support to manufacturing teams troubleshooting and solving process equipment and materials issues. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards for medical device manufacturing. Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices. Lead LEAN action workouts and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelors degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering or related. Five (5) years of progressive experience in medical device manufacturing advanced manufacturing engineering or a combination thereof. Employer will accept a Masters degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering or related and three (3) years of experience in medical device manufacturing advanced manufacturing engineering or a combination thereof in lieu of a Bachelors degree or equivalent and five (5) years of progressive experience as described above. Academic background internship or work experience to include: CAD Tableau SQL or Minitab; Equipment Qualification and Process Validation and Verification plans; Lean problem-solving tools (e.g. 5-whys fault tree analysis or related); Implementing process automation and robot programming; Process data analysis and visualization; Tooling and fixture design; Application of adhesives and primers for optical coupling; and Developing and troubleshooting vision-based inspection systems and scintillator-based detector test systems. Six sigma Green belt Certification required at the time of hire.
