Completion of a two year Community College Program in the social and/or human sciences plus completion of a one year Post-diploma Certificate in Communications Disorder Assistant. Alternatively completion of an equivalent two or three year Community College Program that incorporates several language development courses and training within the defined curriculum may be considered.
A minimum of three years of related work experience with children/youth in language development is required. The work experience must have been under the direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist or a Teacher of the Deaf. Documented job training from a Speech-Language Professional or training recognized by the Board such as Hanen or PECS may be considered. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A valid drivers licence and access to a vehicle is required.
