Description
The Welding Technician III is a senior-level position responsible for leading complex welding projects mentoring junior technicians and ensuring the highest quality standards. This role requires expert knowledge of welding techniques and the ability to handle challenging tasks with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform expert-level welding tasks using MIG TIG and arc welding equipment.
- Lead the preparation and set-up of welding projects ensuring optimal workflow.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and non-destructive testing to verify weld quality.
- Perform maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of welding equipment.
- Read and interpret intricate blueprints and technical specifications.
- Mentor and train Welding Technician I and II personnel sharing best practices and expertise.
- Work closely with engineers project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 5 years of welding experience.
- Mastery of MIG TIG and arc welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret highly complex blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Capable of standing for prolonged periods.
- Exposure to noise dust and fumes typical of a welding environment.
- Excellent vision including close-up work and the ability to distinguish colors.
Salary Description
$25.00 - $28.00
