Position Summary:
We are currently seeking an energetic person to join our team in the position of Head Start Teacher. Through a respectful constructive and energetic style guided by the objectives of the organization the position plays a vital role in preparing children with school readiness skills necessary for success in school and beyond. The successful candidate is responsible for teaching preschool children and implementing activities designed to promote social emotional physical and intellectual growth. This position will be a member of the Mining City Head Start #1 Local #4419MFPE AFTAFL-CIO.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Head Start Teacher you will be responsible for promoting active learning in the preschool classroom by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate individualized experiences and creating a safe and nurturing environment in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standard and the Head Start Act.
AA in Early Childhood Education; Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or;
Bachelors Degree or advanced degree in any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education and experience teaching preschool children.
Knowledge of the needs of at-risk families and children. Knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards and Head Start Act/. Knowledge of how to evaluate and interpret regulations. Familiar with Microsoft Word and Windows. Knowledge of the Creative Curriculum. Gain knowledge on CLASS Domains and Objectives.
