We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our mechanical engineering department to be part of a team of design professionals that designs complex facilities and engineers the built environment. Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist with mechanical system design under the direction of Professional Engineer (PE).
- Produce detailed engineering documents such as drawings specifications reports and narratives.
- Utilize Building Information Modeling / Revit software to develop HVAC system drawings and to coordinate these systems with building architecture and other building systems.
- Create families schedules drawing sheets and drawing details in Revit.
- Participate in project planning meetings project review meetings and site visits.
- Collaborate with owners users and other design professionals to fulfill owners project requirements.
- Learn and apply building codes and industry standards such as ASHRAE NFPA IBC IMC etc..
- Work with supervisor to establish track and achieve goals based on project priorities.
- Regularly document experience in anticipation of applying for professional engineering (PE) licensure.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) from an ABET accredited engineering program.
- Have already passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or is scheduled to take this exam within 6 months of beginning employment.
- Desire to attain Professional Engineering (PE) licensure.
- Ability to perform relevant engineering calculations such as heating and cooling load calculations ductwork sizing calculations pipe sizing calculations etc..
- Ability to interpret calculations to size select and layout system equipment and components.
- Minimum working knowledge of engineering control systems and their application.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word Excel and Outlook.
- Able to become proficient in Autodesk Revit Autodesk AutoCAD Trane Trace energy modeling software and standard pipe/duct sizing software.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Additional Details: - This job is to be performed in-person at our Auburn AL office location.
- Some travel is required to attend meetings and perform site visits (approximately 5-10%).
