Lets talk about you
You bring a thoughtful solutions-focused approach to legal guidance with the ability to guide teams manage complexity and support business outcomes. Youre commercially minded calm under pressure and comfortable navigating balancing priorities with clarity and care.
Bachelor of Laws and a current Australian practising certificate
Experience in a well-regarded law firm and/or in-house legal team
Strong technical legal skills and sound judgement across areas like contracts consumer law challenge disputes IP corporate and privacy
Proven ability to lead and support legal professionals
Strategic thinking with a proactive mindset and long-term focus
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience managing external counsel and legal budgets
Ability to adapt respond to feedback and manage change
Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to risk
Familiarity with legal tools and systems (e.g. Jira SharePoint)
Alignment with Aussie Broadbands values and purpose
How will you support our Why
Youll bring our values to life by ensuring legal integrity is embedded across the business while enabling innovation and growth. As General Manager Legal youll lead the legal function support your team and provide strategic advice on high-impact matters. Youll work closely with senior leaders regulators and external counsel to manage legal risk support transactions and guide the business through complex choices with clarity and confidence.
Leading and supporting the legal team including workflow and resourcing
Driving improvements in legal processes tools and efficiency
Delivering legal training and developing internal policies
Overseeing contract reviews legal advice and dispute resolution
Managing legal risk in material contract considerations
Collaborating with the Chief Legal Officer on strategic priorities
Engaging with regulators and supporting responses
Supporting M&A activity and managing external lawyers
Maintaining legal precedents and resources
Enhancing legal systems including Jira and SharePoint
Partnering with senior mentors across business functions
