Empire Tapes Ltd is a leading UK manufacturer of adhesive tape products serving industries across the globe. With innovation and customer focus at the heart of our operations we are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team in Rotherham. This role is key to ensuring accurate financial reporting cash flow management and continuous improvement in our finance processes.
As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for managing core financial functions including accounts payable and receivable general ledger maintenance reporting budgeting compliance and process enhancement. This is a hands-on role offering a fantastic opportunity for career progression and greater responsibility within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial activities including accounts payable receivable bank reconciliations and general ledger transactions
- Manage cash flow: forecast monitor and optimise working capital including daily oversight of invoice discounting facilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly quarterly and annual management accounts with supporting analysis (accruals prepayments stock and variances)
- Lead the annual budgeting process in line with Group objectives
- Continuously improve internal financial controls systems and automation initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all statutory VAT and tax reporting requirements; liaise with external tax advisers as needed
- Lead the year-end audit process and implement findings or recommendations
- Supervise and support the credit control function; provide cover for team members during absence
- Provide ad hoc financial support and insight to senior management when required
About You What You Will Bring
- Part-qualified accountant (ACCA CIMA or ACA)
- Minimum 3 years experience in a finance or accounting role with hands-on exposure to:
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Cash flow forecasting and management
- Month-end close and reporting
- Strong leadership potential and willingness to step into more senior responsibilities
- Advanced Excel skills and previous use of ERP/integrated finance systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
- Organised and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A continuous improvement mindset with an appetite for professional growth
