Job Description
Your Mission
Ratepay is seeking an experienced Data Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in cloud-based database systems including PostgreSQL DocumentDB ElastiCache and automation with Terraform and Python. In this role you will ensure the reliability scalability and performance of our data infrastructure as platform usage grows while standardizing backups supporting schema changes optimizing performance maintaining Terraform modules maintain and migrating Airflow as well as expanding expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Operate maintain and enhance PostgreSQL DocumentDB and ElastiCache in AWS.
- Support automation of database provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Python.
- Create manage and maintain the terrraform modules for data infrastructure related component.
- Manage and maintain Apache Airflow.
- Monitor troubleshoot and improve database performance.
- Own backup and recovery strategies and manage production upgrades.
- Collaborate with product teams on schema design queries and data migrations.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
- Document operational procedures and train internal stakeholders.
- Learn and support Microsoft SQL Server to widen internal capability.

- CI/CD for DB changes (Improve deployment velocity and safety)
- Experience working with Apache Airflow
