Job Summary

This position is for second shift support (approximately 2:00 10:30 PM) and is 100% on-site in McKinney TX.

We have an exciting opportunity for a position of Test Equipment Engineer located onsite in McKinney TX. The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) organization within RTX drives business success by providing a variety of critical engineering services across product lines and functions.

This position is for second shift production support of factory test systems to oversee Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) product testing.

The selected candidate will be expected to act either as a part of the team or independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with production interruptions due to test systems.

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain Test Equipment systems for a factory/production environment which exercises and analyzes hardware deliverable products.
  • Interact and engage with Engineering Operations team and program personnel to support factory readiness and robustness.
  • Support multiple efforts including requirements design improvements integration validation verification and maintenance of special test equipment (STE).
  • Prioritize handle and lead multiple tasks in a production environment.
  • Troubleshooting hardware for test equipment development.
  • Communication with an engineering team functional and program leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of previous manufacturing support experience.
  • Technical aptitude as shown by previous hands on experience including but not limited to analysis test troubleshooting and interpreting schematics.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications Prefer:

  • Experience developing and integrating automated test stations/systems.
  • Experience with EO/IR test systems in a production environment.
  • Experience with factory/laboratory test instrumentation electronics and software (Ex. oscilloscopes power supplies digital multimeters)
  • Experience utilizing integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software.
  • Experience with common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as TCP/IP UDP or RS-422
  • Experience with NI software such as LabVIEW TestStand or other test software programming languages
  • Understanding of UUT/ATE test software requirements design implementation integration validation and verification process events.
  • Strong technical writing skills and an ability to collaborate with a cross functional team of professionals.
