Ascend believes that every day holds the possibility of a miracle for the children we serveso if you have your Bachelors and/or Masters degree you will truly enjoy being an Early Interventionist/Infant Development Specialist (IDS) in the Union City Hayward Castro Valley and San Leandro area providing home visits.
Ascend immediately seeks a dedicated experienced passionate and fun-loving Early Interventionist/Infant Development Specialist to work with infants and toddlers with developmental delays and/or disabilities and their caregivers in the childs natural environment.
The ideal specialists are passionate about working with children aged 0 to 3 and have knowledge of both typical and atypical child development.

The Infant Development Specialists job duties will include the following:
- Designing learning environments and activities that promote the infants or toddlers acquisition of skills in a variety of developmental areas including cognitive processes communication motor skills self-help skills and social interaction
- Curriculum planning including the planned interaction of personnel materials and time and space is key to achieving the outcomes in the IFSP for infants or toddlers with disabilities.
- Conducting assessments and writing detailed developmental reports for children on caseload.
- Providing families with information skills and support related to enhancing the skill development of the child and working with the infant or toddler with a disability to enhance the childs development while coaching the parents who are the experts on their child
Qualifications & Requirements:
- REQUIREMENT:Must have a minimum of one year experience in early intervention working with special needs children ages 0 to 3
- experience working with children in a home environment is a plus
- A minimum degree (bachelors) in Child Development Early Childhood Education Special Education or a closely related field such as a masters degree is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (Written & Verbal)
- Reliable transportation to patients homes
- Must be committed and looking for long-term employment
- Spanish speaking is a plus
