Are you our next Geotechnical Engineer

The Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for providing tailings disposal and brine management technical support functions to Operations Environmental and Engineering teams. Responsible for coordination of maintenance activities inspections compliance construction and closure activities pertaining to TMA systems.

What will you do

  • Provide technical support for day-to-day activities and on all aspects of the tailings system operations including tailings disposal activities and brine management to ensure compliance with regulations and permit conditions.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining short-term and long-term tailings disposal plans in support of operational decisions and capital planning. Support brine management strategy functions.
  • Coordinate geotechnical inspections surveys and monitoring programs to track operational progress measure storage and process water inventories and ensure performance and safety of stack systems. Report issues coordinate recommendations and track implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing maintaining and implementing operational management system elements for the gypsum stack system.
  • Support design and construction activities for tailings projects. Responsible for completing project tasks as assigned on a project-by-project basis

What do you need for this role

  • A bachelors degree in engineering is required (preferably in the following engineering disciplines: Geotechnical Civil Environmental Chemical Mining etc.)

Engineer I

  • 0-2 years of co-op or internship engineering exp.

Engineer II

  • 2 years of surface mining or heavy construction experience with exposure to environmental and safety compliance and stormwater management elements.

Engineer III

  • 4 years of surface mining or heavy construction experience with exposure to environmental and safety compliance and stormwater management elements.

Engineer Sr

  • 8 years of surface mining or heavy construction experience with exposure to environmental and safety compliance and stormwater management elements.

  • Experience in industrial operations or heavy construction experience with exposure to environmental and safety compliance elements preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering design drawings.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management.
