Job Description
Carstensen Contracting Inc. has an open position for a Heavy Haul Truck Driver. Our company drivers primary focus is to transport/deliver heavy excavation equipment safely and effectively to our various jobsites throughout the Midwest. The ideal candidate would have experience with oversize/over-dimensional heavy haul trucking.
Additional duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Delivering construction equipment to and from jobsites.
- Works with the Trucking Superintendent to ensure proper permitting is secured.
- Maintain current truck logs per FMCSA regulations.
- Completed pre-and post-trip inspections thoroughly and reports immediate concerns to the Trucking Superintendent.
- Securely loads equipment machinery and parts. Then safely transports to the destination. Finally unloads properly to prevent injury and/or damage.
- Comply with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations as well as company safety policies.
- Various yard duties.
Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Valid Health Card.
- Experience transporting heavy construction equipment.
- Knowledge and ability to safely load secure and unload cargo using proper safety techniques.
- Knowledge and ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Knowledge and ability to fill out logbooks and company documentation in compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
- Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening.
