About the opportunity
Step into a purpose-driven position within our Infrastructure Services Unit as a Waste Management Officer. About You
You will make an impact by
- Reviewing and advising on waste management plans for planning applications and multi-unit developments.
- Supporting residents and contractors with waste planning and presentation enquiries.
- Developing and refining strategic waste management policies and guidelines.
- Supporting the Waste Managment Contracts Officer with contract management tasks
- Providing expert advice to internal and external stakeholders on waste services planning.
- Monitoring and improving waste-related planning processes and service delivery.

What you will bring
Foundational knowledge of waste services and/or planning approvals processes in Local Government.
- Experience in contract management
- A genuine interest in developing and growing your career in waste management.
- Strong ability to handle complaints and enquiries with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Experience in contract administration and service monitoring.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage tasks independently.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
