Job Description
Loyola Marymount University (LMU) faculty are helping to create the world we want to live are seeking the next generation of mission-driven teacher-scholars. Department of Film and Television Production at Loyola Marymount Universitys School of Film and Television is searching for an Creative Producer to temporarily join the department for a one- year appointment as a Visiting Professor. This is a non-tenure track position starting on August 15 2025 and concluding approximately May 15 2025.
MFA or terminal degree in film production or a closely related field JD or MBA with related industry experience required. Interested applicants should have at least 1-2 years university level teaching experience along with evidence of successful student mentoring.
Candidates are expected to have substantial practical experience (Hollywood Independent or International) and a significant network of entertainment industry professionals including agents managers executives and should have experience producing projects in the Cinematic Arts (e.g. films television games and emerging media formats) that have been distributed by established distributors.
The selected candidates will assist our students to understand the logistics of entertainment content production for todays markets including script/project development for various storytelling modes pitching and pitch decks rights acquisitions budgeting/schedulingentertainment lawand current knowledge of distribution marketsand emerging media should include finance and business development marketing crowd funding and audience development.
Selected candidates will teach from among established courses on the graduate and undergraduate will act as advisors to students and review new student applications. Candidates will be expected to teach the required full time teaching load of three (3) courses per semester and provide service to the University.
