SUMMARY: The Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the companys logistics department. This includes managing the distribution of products ensuring efficient customer service and overseeing the shipping processes. The Logistics Supervisor will be a key leader in developing and implementing strategies and plans to improve department efficiency and customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Provides administrative and on-the-job training for new drivers in all aspects of the job.
  • Evaluates all existing routes to determine if company policies and programs are being maintained.
  • Manage the logistics staff and coordinate scheduling and workloads.
  • Work closely with carriers suppliers and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Track order fulfillment and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Sets example by appearance punctuality leadership and attitude towards the company and customers.
  • Maintains a high level of familiarity with all routes and customers.
  • Stays informed of all programs policies and product changes in regard to routes and communications with staff.
  • Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness vacation or personal leave.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving efficiency customer service and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Class A Commercial Drivers License
  • DOT Standard Regulations
  • Customer Service or Sales Experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years of Route Delivery experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand stoop and walk. The employee must be able to reach bend extend climb pull and lift 50-60 pounds.

  • Must be able to frequently walk stand stoop bend reach climb and pull.
  • Must be able to frequently lift milk case weighing up to 55 lbs. and push/pull stacks of milk weighing 250-300 lbs. using provided equipment.

  • The work environment may require working in the cooler room with varying degrees of temperature and may include contact with water or dairy liquids.
  • Exposed to a noise level of 90 decibels. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/high. Wet/slippery work conditions.
  • Ability to tolerate frequent temperature changes hot and cold environments inside outside refrigerated areas and coolers.
