Ironworker
An ironworker is a skilled tradesperson whoworks with iron and steel to construct reinforce and repair metal are responsible for assembling fabricating and installing the structural frameworks of buildings bridges and other large-scale includes interpreting blueprints cutting and shaping metal welding bolting and ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the framework.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads blueprints and selects requiredmaterial for construction.
- Sets up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
- Fastens steel members to cable of hoist using chain cable orrope.
- Guides structure being lifted into proper position and aligns rivet holes with corresponding holes.
- Drives drift pins through rivet holes.
- May assist in lifting positions and securing materials and work pieces during installation.
- Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment using plumb bob and level. Bolts align members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place.
- Bolts aligned structures to keep them in position until permanently riveted bolted or welded into place.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:
Education: no minimum education requirements.
Certifications/ Licenses:Valid State ID or Drivers License
Experience: 5 years of Journeyman level experience.
